We also had over 18,800 visits last month.* Many thanks to all of you who continue to provide us with tremendous support, constructive suggestions, and email feedback! Mary Will No Longer Travel to Group Sessions Mary Ennis has been holding group sessions since 1995. This phenomenon started out in a group context, and it was a couple of years before the first private session was held or any money was charged. As more and more people came to the sessions, Mary's friends in Castaic tried to help her find a way to commit to the Elias sessions full time and had to gradually convince her to accept any money. She has received a lot of help and support from those who transcribe and publish the sessions, as well as those who attend. Still, Mary never really enjoyed the travel part of her business, well, except maybe her visits to France! But for one reason or another she has decided to reduce her travel. There will still be group sessions, but they will occur in Brattleboro, Vermont beginning this Fall. For an update, see: A Note From Mary, April 17, 2005 Group E-fest in Chicago, Illinois in July 2005. See below for details on Mary's last group session In the USA. DVD Archive Project Update This is one of those “behind the scenes” projects whose goal is to ensure that the legacy of the Elias forum continues long after we’re gone. At last count, Mary had recorded over 1,700 sessions on videotape! Since DVDs take up less space, we purchased a DVD recorder last March, and began to transfer the ’95 sessions from Ron and Cathy Churchman’s video archive. We’ve finished through session 450. Reminders Bobbi Houle recently moved and is still busy settling into her new home near Yosemite, CA. The flow of transcripts has slowed down during the past couple of months, and some of you have written about this. Please give Bobbi some time to sort things out, and in the mean time let her know how much you appreciate all the hard work she has done over the past three and a half years, along with all the transcribers as well. Also, some of you have changed email addresses or have spam filters that block your reception of the newsletter and transcripts via email. If you haven’t received either in a while, you can always update your info on the registration page (there’s a link on the bottom of the home page), or just send a private email to Paul & Jo (newsletter) or Bobbi Houle (transcripts). If you use this newsletter and website, please take a minute to let us know what you think. Your feedback helps us to make them easier to use. Best Wishes, Paul & Jo Helfrich

Newsletters since March 2002 are available online in the Library, under the letter “N” at: http://www.eliasforum.org/library.html#N Gem of the Month The Gem of the Month is a regular feature that provides an excerpt from a recent transcript that captures a snapshot of essential Elias. This month’s gem is taken from the Neal’s private session: NEAL: “I would like to discuss this movement that I’m trying to accomplish, in my way of expressing it, allowing more and seeing through the eyes of source and seeing with compassion, not only the person but also their eternalness. I’m doing a retreat for ten days, coming up in about a week, and that’s going to be the focus of the retreat. I’d like to hear your understanding of that.” ELIAS: “And how shall you be directing in this retreat?” NEAL: “I’m not sure of the question, but my answer would be it’s a retreat in solitude. I’ll do meditation and I’ll do clearing or accepting of the fear that is associated with that kind of surrender to source.” ELIAS: “Hmm. Therefore you shall be engaging other individuals, correct?” NEAL: “I’ll be doing this alone. I’ll be alone and in silence for ten days. I’ll be engaging individuals not so much physically as I will emotionally and spiritually.” ELIAS: “Very well. And your objective is?” NEAL: “A beginning of that consciousness that allows me to see through the eyes of compassion. It allows me to know what to offer them in that moment, even if it’s simple gentle kindness.” ELIAS: “Very well. In this solitude, focusing your attention upon yourself and your understanding, you may open a window, so to speak, to allow yourself to experience into other individuals and offer yourself greater understanding, not merely of them but of yourself, also. For in this process, you may be noticing how you translate the experiences of other individuals.” “Your objective is to be, as you have stated, viewing into the source of yourself and of other individuals. In this, what you offer to yourself is information in how you as an individual translate the experience, or that which you term to be the source, of other individuals, and this offers you more information in relation to your source. Are you understanding? NEAL: “Yes, I am. (Pause) Could you offer me some insight into the personal beliefs I have that limit that flow of energy within me, within my perception?” ELIAS: “Remember, beliefs and perception are different. Beliefs influence your perception, but perception is what generates your reality. In this, it is a matter of how you direct your attention in association with beliefs that influence or alter your perception. “Now; in relation to this subject matter of the activity that you are planning on engaging, it is not necessarily a situation of beliefs that may be limiting or hindering your action that you shall be attempting to engage. It is actually recognizing the action of your translation as you proceed within your action and therefore allowing yourself to recognize what beliefs influence your translations, which thusly influence your perception. “In this, as you pay attention to yourself and to how you are translating information, you shall allow yourself to recognize not merely what beliefs are being expressed but also that you incorporate the freedom to choose to be expressing them or not, which is significant. “It is not a situation in which you or any individual shall be NOT expressing beliefs, for all that you engage within your physical reality filters through influences of beliefs. But what you objectively are forgetful of is that you incorporate ALL of the beliefs within all of the belief systems, and therefore you also incorporate tremendous diversity in choice. Merely acknowledging that you do express any particular belief offers you the freedom to redirect your attention and choose ANY belief that may serve you, so to speak, in an expression of clarity. Allowing yourself the awareness is most significant. “Therefore in this situation, with you individually, I would not express to you that there are certain beliefs that may be limiting or hindering of your objective, for this is not the situation that you are moving in. You are not expressing beliefs in a manner in which they are being a hindrance presently. Therefore in this situation, realize that your objective is not necessarily to be addressing to beliefs, but rather to be paying attention to your translations, which therefore affect your perception. In allowing yourself an openness to yourself and genuinely paying attention to YOU in this process – as you simultaneously are paying attention to what you allow yourself to tap into in relation to other individuals – you shall offer yourself a tremendous volume of information, and this may be your avenue into a genuine expression of appreciation of self.” NEAL: “Mmm. I like that. (Elias laughs) I like that! I’ve shared a lot with a lot of people that circle of love that we discussed in one of our prior conversations, of appreciation and knowing and love and acceptance. That has helped not only me but a lot of people.” ELIAS: “I am understanding. In your terms, my friend, you have generated an interesting path, so to speak!” (Chuckles) NEAL: “It’s been fun... Well, most of the time.” ELIAS: “Which offers you a tremendous expression of freedom, does it not?” NEAL: “I have one of the most incredibly free lives that I can imagine.” ELIAS: (Chuckles) “And this is the point!” [session 1198, December 04, 2002] Digests: find out more about perception. Monthly Musings - The Ten Belief Systems: Duplicity Last month we began to explore the ten primary belief systems outlined by Elias in 1999 in the order he gave them. We started with relationships, and this month we're going to continue with a really BIG one, duplicity. But first, here's a summary of the ten belief systems:
The belief system of duplicity is where our moral and ethical beliefs reside, though Elias doesn't use those exact words because they are charged with conventional religious belief systems. They include good/bad, right/wrong, better/worse, pretty/ugly, gain/loss, etc. Elias says that duplicity is unique in that it is nested within the other nine, and as such, is very, very affecting of our perception. The basic idea is not to eliminate morality or ethics, but to become aware of how it colors so many birds (beliefs) in all our bird cages (belief systems).
A very charged and often misunderstood word used by Elias is “judgment.” It sometimes has the “bad” connotation of a secular “judge and jury” or more religious “judgment day.” However, Elias uses this word more like “discern,” which means “to recognize or identify as separate and distinct.” So the action of judging or discerning in this context is completely neutral. However, when judgment or discernment is colored by the belief system of duplicity, that's when the good, bad, and ugly start to creep into our perception, and thus our creations. This is why Elias harps on accepting self and the NIRAA method, so that with practice we don't eliminate our moral and ethical beliefs, but situate them in a more relativistic and pluralistic context where there is no single, black and white definition of good and bad, right and wrong. This leads to its own challenges because it forces us to be accepting of many more beliefs held by others worldwide. There is also a danger in taking Elias' words too literally to mean that there is no right or wrong and it's OK to steal, murder, rape, and ignore the needs and wishes of others. That's not the point of “it matters not!"
Thus, the point is that we've been taught by conventional religious beliefs that there are absolute, black and white definitions of right and wrong, good and evil, etc. And while we each have our opinions and preferences, when practicing NIRAA we begin to see that there is overlap in many cases. However, in others “the right thing to do” is not so clear. Recent examples include the War on Terror, War in Iraq, Terri Shiavo, gay and lesbian marriage, abortion, and on and on. So the simple practice for this month is to NIRAA our own duplicity with self for a week. Seven whole days. Simply notice how often we discount and devalue our selves first. Then, during a second week NIRAA how we discount and devalue others. Include plants, insects, pets, children, family members, as well as “them,” you know, all those “others” over there somewhere. As usual, don't go crazy, simply notice for 5-10 minutes throughout each day, and let it go at that. The basic ideas, as always, are to notice ourselves in relation to others, and be consistent with the practice. After all, we create what we concentrate upon! Publication date 25 October 2004
For more information, please contact annek@contact-publishing.co.uk At this time in our world we are all asking questions of ourselves and others such as, “What is my purpose?” and “What is truth?” and “What is death?” We are questioning the validity of our governments and our religious institutions. The Shift: A Time of Change offers the answer to these questions. First time author David Tate has waded through the voluminous information delivered by Elias/Mary Ennis to compile a GEM of the Elias material and has shaped The Shift: A Time of Change into a definitive reference guide of the most popular topics of the Elias material. All of the readers of the popular Seth/Jane Roberts books will identify with the information delivered by Elias/Mary Ennis in that it is channelled material. Like Seth, Elias is an essence who brings forth explanations of our world, ourselves and that we create our reality. The mantra, “You create your own reality,” was originated by Seth. Seth further explained that our beliefs create our reality. However, Elias clarifies that in order to change our realities we must accept our beliefs. In The Shift, Elias delves deep into the fundamental questions we all have concerning truth, karma, beliefs systems and God. “You are moving to the creation of a new expression of your physical reality as you know it. In this, not only your technology shall advance and be created differently, but all of your reality shall be altered and shall be different.” Synopsis The Shift: A Time of Change is a compilation of transcripts that have been delivered by Elias/Mary Ennis since 1995. The phenomenon of Elias began in 1995 and, through Mary Ennis, Elias has given private and group readings to people around the globe. This book encompasses the gems of that information that addresses everyone on the planet. This is the first book within a series. TABLE OF CONTENTS:
