Oversoul Seven

Paul’s note: unless you have read one of the Oversoul Seven books, written by Jane Roberts, the following may not be entirely clear.

Elias “gems”

FRANK: Can you expand on [your] involvement in other facets of the Jane Roberts/Seth material where you had a co-creation and involvement, which I expect you do?

ELIAS: Limited, in your terms. This was an interaction with another essence [Seth] quite connected within consciousness to this individual focus of this woman [Jane Roberts]. Therefore the interaction, for the most part, was exclusive.

Within the creation of this one written material [Oversoul Seven], this individual [Jane Roberts] shall have expressed to you all that your teacher [Seth] was not involved in its creation. (1) There was an awareness on the part of this individual of interaction of other aspects of consciousness. This was interpreted by this individual to be aspects of herself, of her own essence. In part, this is a correct assessment, but only in part; for within an interaction within this time period of this creation, you may view this essence of Elias to be comparable to the role of Cyprus. (2) You may interpret an interaction which was ongoing, in your terms, of this essence [Elias] and your teacher [Seth] within the creation of this written material. The individual physically focused was very aware that this material was not produced with objective awareness within herself. Therefore, she also held an awareness that this information was acquired, in her terms, from somewhere else; another interaction.

Now; I express to you that this one written element is important to you also, for this written material was a projection of now, and you may view the characters of this book [The Education of Oversoul Seven] as those in the same as the individuals which incorporate the pyramid action presently within physical focus, of these individual[s] present: Lawrence [Vicki], Shynla [Cathy], Olivia [Ron], Michael [Mary]. They are your characters within this book. These are the same, within the four main characters originally, within the original initial scripts of these books. (3) The information incorporated into these books was a projection for now; for within this time period, you may understand the action of your shift and the information which has been offered with the intent of the Sumafi, to be delivering information to you of reality that you now may understand as not only a story.” [session 185, June 21, 1997 ]

Elias “gems”

ELIAS: “I have likened you to Seven in that within your shift, and after within non-physical focus, you may interact with all of your focuses within the same manner. I may not completely absorb myself within the consciousness and expression of Milus (4) any longer, for he incorporates his own essence. Therefore, it is different. I do not interact with him in the same manner that I interact with focuses that are not fragmented; for in that, just as you may be another individual and simultaneously be yourself, I may also be within the consciousness of a developmental focus. It is different in relation to me, for I am as Seven is. I am non-physical and may remove myself from my focuses, my facets; or may choose to engage them completely, as did Seven with Ma-ah.

VICKI: Once an individual is fragmented, they are no longer a facet of your essence?

ELIAS: Correct. I may not be incorporated within the consciousness of yourself or Michael [Mary] or Milus in the same fashion as I may choose to be within a facet; for essences are non-intrusive. You possess your own essences. I would not be intrusive, to be ‘taking over’ your consciousness. There is no incorporation of ‘take-over’ of consciousness within a facet, for it is my consciousness.

VICKI: Sometimes it’s hard to understand how an essence such as yourself could state that you are no longer physically focusing, within the concept of simultaneous time.

ELIAS: You think in segments. I cannot express to you of essence efficiently, for your comprehension does not understand. Within non-physical focus, just as Seven may be removed from all of his characters and interacting with Cyprus, or engaging upon his own adventures independent of his characters, so may I also engage in activity and not be focused within the individuals.” [session 73, February 21, 1996]

ELIAS: “The essence of Patel (5) may be compared to what you view as your Oversoul Seven. The essence of Elias may be compared to Cyprus. In this, all information of both essences are contained within the essence of Michael [Mary] and Lawrence [Vicki]. The difference is that Lawrence [Vicki] has chosen not to incorporate the objective reality as of this present moment, although the movement is occurring and shall be incorporated quickly; this being the connection that you view presently within this present expression.” [session 111, August 11, 1996 ]

VICKI: “So then would you term the way Oversoul Seven was written as automatic writing?

ELIAS: Yes.

VICKI: There was not a conscious awareness.

ELIAS: Correct.

VICKI: And this is different.

ELIAS: Correct. As you engage other actions without your own clarity and recognition of the mergence, you involve distortion. Therefore, each time that you engage your [Ouija] board or your writing and you are removing yourself, you are incorporating distortion. (Pause)

VICKI: Got that, Cathy?

CATHY: No, I don’t get it! (We both crack up)

ELIAS: (To Cathy) As you engage your [Ouija] board, are you consciously aware of a mergence?

CATHY: No.

ELIAS: Precisely. (To Vicki) As you engage automatic writing, are you consciously aware of a mergence?

VICKI: Not really, although there’s been a few times when I kind of felt that way, but it was momentary.

ELIAS: Precisely. This is not to say that you may not accomplish this action. You may. This is not to say also that you may not presently accomplish this action momentarily. You do, momentarily.

VICKI: It’s a matter of tuning in, correct?

ELIAS: Precisely.

VICKI: Tuning in to what? (We’re cracking up again)

ELIAS: To energy exchange; to engaging your periphery and allowing another channel to be viewed simultaneously to your directed attention. (Pause) I also shall express to you that the engagement of these activities is not what you would view to be an expression only of yourself. There is an allowance of energy bleeding through. Therefore, you do receive communication, although the communication that you receive becomes confusing, or seems to deliver no information. (Pause)

VICKI: So how do you merge and exchange at the same time?

ELIAS: (Stares at Cathy)

CATHY: What are you looking at me for??? (Much laughter)

ELIAS: This would be answered with Shynla’s [Cathy’s] favorite word!

CATHY: Oh, boy! Trust! (Quite sarcastically)

ELIAS: Very good! And acceptance.” [session 124, September 27, 1996 ]

PAUL: “Elias, in one of Jane’s books there is a reference – in the Oversoul Seven book – in the valley of the Speakers – to these tiles that are imbued with sound and the ability to stimulate the inner senses through sound.

ELIAS: Ah! (Grinning)

PAUL: Could you speak a little bit about how sound might be used that way, or give some hints as to discovering some of those things?

ELIAS: I hold quite an affinity for this story, as I also hold interaction with its creation. These are, within this story, connections of reality within consciousness presented to you in a language that you may understand creatively. This is not imagination, for there is no imagination that is not reality! Incorporated into this information is information concerning your shift in consciousness. As your teacher [Seth] has instructed previously to be creating within a game of this city futurely, I also have incorporated this action with individuals presently to be creating of this city (6), for it exists already within what you view to be past and future. In this, you all participate in its creation. In the explanation creatively of this story, there are elements of reality that you have already created; and within the action of your shift, you shall be connecting with these elements.

There exists in reality these tiles. Not all hold the action of sound. Some hold the action of sound as incorporated by these essences known as these Dream Walkers, of Speakers. Some of these tiles hold abilities of telepathic events. Some hold emotional qualities. Each family contributes to the objectification of this city, and each family incorporates their contribution within these tiles and within the intent of each different family within this dimension. Therefore, these of the Speakers hold tones; for within the family of Sumari, their communication is through tone and sound, which may not necessarily incorporate language, although at times it may be translated into a language.

Within the family of Sumafi, of which this essence is, the Dream Walkers were identified as Seers. These tiles incorporated within your city hold thought. Therefore, within your objective action of touch to these tiles, you may present yourself with information beyond your present comprehension.

This individual [Jane Roberts] has accessed much subjective information within her focus and her creativity, which she has offered to you all. In this, I express to you that the concept of the library is very small, for the information that you may access is far beyond any library. (7) [session 185, June 21, 1997 ]

PAUL: “Elias, is part of the action of the shift – this is a question about genetics and race – is there any movement towards a uniform, genetic makeup on the planetary scale? For example, in Oversoul Seven, Proteus (8) ... I believe in that society, in that story, there was a genetic similarity of all the focuses on the planet at that point, in the twenty-third or twenty-fourth century. Is part of the action of the shift involving any of those sorts of racial homogeneity for the purpose of the richness that you described, or will those still be kept separate – not the right word – different?

ELIAS: In some areas, you shall be altering genetically. As I have expressed previously, you are already moving in this direction. You are already accessing information in expressing to yourselves how objectively to be manipulating genetically. Therefore, in some areas you shall be altering genetic encoding for your benefit, eliminating some elements and acquiring some new elements; but as to cultural differences or races, you shall continue within this direction for the experience. You merely shall not be bound to the belief systems within these cultures, and therefore hold no division between yourselves.” [session 223, September 28, 1997 ]

JO: “That reminds me of a connection with this group, and I’m just going right come out and ask. Are we characters in Oversoul Seven?

ELIAS: Connect yourself; yes.

JO: Are we Elgren and Avona Hosentauf?

ELIAS: (Chuckling slyly) Answer to me!

BOTH: (All together now!) Yes!!

ELIAS: Very good!

JO: Are we kind of combined Elgren and Avona, or am I Elgren and he’s Avona? I’m Elgren and he’s Avona.

ELIAS: Correct.

JO: And that’s probably why we’re having such nurturing feelings towards Mary.

ELIAS: Correct.

JO: And we could probably benefit from taking some notes as to what their connection is?

ELIAS: Correct.

JO: Thank you.

ELIAS: And also be focusing upon this word of nurturing, within your ‘pinkness!’” (9) [session 224, October 01, 1997]

PAUL: “Now once in a while, isn’t there sort of an ... intrusion is not the right action, but what I call a veto power of essence? Just as an example, in the Oversoul Seven book – the first book, or maybe it’s the second book – one of the characters, Josef, goes running off as his wife is having a baby, and he gets drunk and passes out and he would have died, and Seven transports him three miles down a mountain so that he can be found by his in-laws. That’s just an example of an intent, perhaps, to kill himself. But yet, in our terms, something quite magical intervened or helped or bled through to help in that situation. (Pause)

ELIAS: This is a figurative example, that essences may be helpful if the agreement is held by the other essence. You within the focus ARE the whole of essence. Therefore, the action may be entered into with another essence, but there is no thing outside of you that may come to your rescue, for it IS you. It is not separate from you. It is not bigger than you or outside of you. Therefore, what shall come to your rescue but you?

PAUL: So therefore, in what Jim was saying with an example of the suicide attempt, you pick up a gun, and perhaps as you go to pick the weapon up there is a bullet in the chamber, but by the time you’ve raised it to your head and pulled the trigger, that other part of yourself has dissipated the bullet for whatever reason – value fulfillment, it’s not time to disengage ...

ELIAS: And has chosen a different choice. It is merely an action of choices within every moment, and you hold the ability to alter your choices or change your choices within every moment.

PAUL: But I guess ... I understand. I guess a Christian story comes to mind of footsteps, where when people are in their deepest troubles ... two sets of footsteps in the sand, and at the darkest moment there was just one, and that being God or the Inner Self or Whatever. So maybe I’m just coming full circle with this other imagery that just supports what you’re saying, that’s all.

ELIAS: It is YOU. Yes, you are correct.” [session 264, February 01, 1998]

PAUL: “I have a question, Elias. Recently I had the opportunity to meet a new friend up in Seaside, Oregon named Harold, and he’s very interested in the Elias material and the Seth material and so forth, and he gave me his permission to ask of you his essence name and his family belonging to and alignment.

ELIAS: Essence name, Lantha; L-A-N-T-H-A. Essence family, Sumafi; alignment, Ilda.

PAUL: I had an impression driving home thinking about him that within the context of the Oversoul Seven material, this individual had a great similarity to the character of Ram-Ram (10). Is there any correlation there?

ELIAS: A similarity in the expression of this particular focus, you are correct.” [session 281, May 17, 1998]

(1) Paul’s note: Oversoul Seven is the lead character in a trilogy written by Jane Roberts: The Education of Oversoul Seven (1973), The Further Education of Oversoul Seven (1979), and Oversoul Seven and the Museum of Time (1984.) Jane states in her introductions to these books that she did not write them in conventional terms, but they were “delivered” in complete form via automatic writing.

(2) Paul’s note: Elias is implying here that he holds a teaching focus similar to Cyprus – another character in all three Seven books – who is Oversoul Seven’s teacher. In that relationship Cyprus has a wider focus and “remembers” more of his aspect selves than Seven does, as Seven is still “more” focused on his physical selves than Cyprus.

(3) Paul’s note: this session occurred in a small hotel room (106) at the Holiday Inn during the June 1997 Seth Network Int'l. conference in Elmira, NY. The people attending, myself included, were all in the midst of exploring the work of Seth/Jane Roberts. I had brought up the topic of Oversoul Seven earlier by asking a question about the sound tiles found in the City of the Speakers in the first Oversoul Seven book.

In this reply, Elias is saying that the four people closely involved in what he terms “the pyramid focus” – Vicki Pendley, Cathy McCallum, Ron Churchman, and Mary Ennis – are figuratively represented by the four main characters in the first Seven book – The Education of Oversoul Seven – Lydia, Ma-ah, Proteus, and Joseph. This was startling, even embarassing to those four when Elias mentioned it at the time (well three actually because Mary was in trance at the time and doesn’t remember much of what Elias discusses during a session.) Anyway, the connection went right over my head (and most everyone else’s present at the time) as we didn’t know that he was refering their essence names (Lawrence, Shynla, Olivia, and Michael.) At the time, all I connected with was the fact that Elias was somehow involved in the actual creation of the Oversoul Seven books.

The “pyramid focus,” at this time consisted of these four individuals – Vicki, Cathy, Ron and Mary. Shortly after this session, a “fifth point” appeared named David Tate. According to Elias, ... well this is one of those sci-fi concepts of his, so I’ll defer to the proverbial horses’s mouth.

To finish this footnote, the four main characters in The Education of Oversoul Seven are: Lydia, Ma-ah, Proteus, and Joseph. Lydia lives in late 20th century USA, Ma-ah in 35,000 B.C., Proteus in the 23rd century, and Joseph in 17th century Denmark. All are focuses of Oversoul Seven. Their unfolding stories reveal an interconnected saga that embodies many of the main concepts in the information offered by Seth and Elias: probable realities, simultaneous time or “no-time,” a cycle of manifestation based upon “no-time” not “karma,” the eternal validity of the soul, we create our own reality, counterparts, the nine families of consciousness, the Dream Walkers, and the purpose of physical life as value fulfillment, to name a few.

(4) Paul’s note: Milus is a friend of Vic and Ron’s who used to rent one of their houses in Castaic, CA. According to Elias, Milus’ essence fragmented from Elias, creating its own unique essence tone.

(5) Vic’s note: Paul (Patel) was introduced by Elias as an essence that had much relevant information to deliver, and would most likely, deliver it through Ron via “automatic writing.” Patel is the essence name and Paul is a focus of Patel’s that Ron connect’s with very strongly. Hence, we often use both names to describe this essence. Elias occasionally uses only the name Paul or Patel but they refer to the same essence. Ron began this energy exchange on June 10, 1996.

For the most part, Paul (Patel) delivers information that is similar to the information that Elias delivers. However, it seems to be of a more personal nature than the information offered by Elias. Most of the exchanges are either in response to specific questions asked, or are a complement to the concepts presented in the information offered by Elias.

(6) Paul’s note: a reference to the work of Seth/Jane Roberts and his dream city exercises with Jane Roberts’s ESP class in the late 60’s and early 70’s. This is described in detail in The “Unknown” Reality, (1977), Vol. 2, Appendix 16, session 711, October 08, 1974.

(7) Paul’s note: this answer really stunned me when Elias originally delivered it. This session occurred in a small hotel room (106) at the Holiday Inn during the June 1997 Seth Network Int'l. conference in Elmira, NY. Before the conference I had read Jane Roberts’ Psychic Politics (1976) to get a Jane-fix – as I wanted to reacquaint myself with Jane’s incredible work before celebrating four days of Seth/Jane/Rob in Jane’s home town in Elmira, NY.

In Psychic Politics Jane details her adventures with her psychic library. For me, this psychic library became a model for me to explore in my own waking consciousness. Not that I have ever come close to Jane’s expression, but at least this concept set the bar for me to experiment with.

Needless to say, if you read this incredible Elias session, #185 June 21, 1997, you’ll notice that there was only a small reference over four hours earlier to a “library of events." In other words, there was no immediate context or any reference to Jane’s library when I asked my original question about sound tiles. This was clear evidence to me of Elias’/Mary’s use of telepathy in answering my question. The intent of the answer was personally crafted on one level to me, while having general use to any reader. It took me about ten minutes to recover as this was my first interaction with and question asked of Elias.

(8) Paul’s note: the character, Proteus, is a focus of Seven’s who lives in the 23rd century A.D. in an floating city above the planet Earth that has been decimated by war and pollution.

(9) Paul’s note: a reference to Joanne’s alignment with the essence family of Borledim, which is represented by the color of pink.

(10) Paul’s note: the character, Ram-Ram, is an accomplished, retired psychologist on the second Oversoul Seven book who explores outside of officially accepted beliefs systems regarding human consciousness and parapsychology.
