Many thanks to all of you who continue to provide us with tremendous support, constructive suggestions, and email feedback! Home Page Graphic Updated! Some of you wrote us this month wondering if your computers were acting up, or if something had changed on the home page. The latter is the case, as Jo added two more lovely graphics to complement the classic sapling image. They load “randomly,” so you never know what you’re going to see. Tip: press the Ctrl+R keys to refresh the page, and test them out. ’95 Transcripts Update Paul continues going through the original videos, editing the transcripts, and adding endnotes to fill in points of interest and back story. There are sixty-two sessions in all, and Paul is currently on session 23. DVD Archive Project Update This is one of those “behind the scenes” projects whose goal is to ensure that the legacy of the Elias forum continues long after we’re gone. At last count, Mary had recorded over 1,600 sessions on videotape! Since DVDs take up less space, we purchased a DVD recorder last March, and began to transfer the ’95 sessions from Ron and Cathy Churchman’s video archive. We’re up to session 173. Also, see below for details on: Group Session in Columbus, Indiana in October 2004. This month’s gem is taken from Frank’s private session: FRANK: “... One of the things I’ve wondered about for a long time is in concert with this idea of it matters not, no one is a victim, nothing happens that somebody doesn’t create for themselves. “As you know, generally speaking most individuals in our society believe in certain moral concepts, and so we teach our children, for example, don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t hurt other people, physical violence is not good. But yet if we have this concept of it doesn’t matter, then is it irrelevant to talk about these things or try to instill these concepts in children or in other people? How does all that fit together?” ELIAS: “Quite literally, my friend, it genuinely does matter not. “For as you recognize, your reality is generated through your perception, and each individual incorporates their own unique perception. In this, in concentrating your attention upon self and not concerning yourself with the expressions of other individuals, you do not lend energy to the perpetuation of expressions that you do not prefer. “For the most part within your physical reality, individuals generally choose expressions in association with their preferences. You may express within your family unit what you associate as guidelines for behavior with the children within your family and with your partner. But if you allow yourself to genuinely examine this information and these concepts, you may also allow yourself the recognition of what is meant by there are no absolutes. “You express certain guidelines of morality, what you perceive to be honesty, truthfulness, right conduct, appropriate behavior, ethics, but another individual may perceive those expressions that you view as correct or valuable as inconsequential. You may express your beliefs that you should not incorporate the action of stealing, and you may define what you associate as stealing; another individual may define it quite differently. You may express that right behavior is to be expressing honestly and your definition of honesty may be specifically defined, and another individual may perceive it quite differently. “In expressing rigidity in morality and in expressing rules of behaviors, you are also reinforcing the belief in absolutes. You may express preferences and opinions within your reality, but also recognize that those are relative to you and your perception and also create an acceptance in which you do not generate judgment concerning tremendous differences in association with other individuals’ perceptions and choices. “This is not quite entirely familiar yet, for you continue to grapple with the concept that you do generate every aspect, every moment, every manifestation of your reality – even other individuals – through your perception individually, and that you actually do create every aspect of your reality and that you choose it. These are not entirely accepted concepts yet and therefore are not entirely generated as your reality yet. They SHALL be, but within this present now they are not yet. But you also may offer yourself conceptually the recognition of how conflict is created in the lack of acceptance and in the continued association with absolutes, that there are absolute rights and absolute wrongs, and that an individual does not create every aspect of their reality, which you justify with the absolute rights and wrongs.” FRANK: “So, really what you’re saying here is that again if you really, really accept this idea that we create it all, none of it matters what anybody else’s morality or actions or ways of living are.” ELIAS: “Correct.” FRANK: “Well, that’s a tough one for me at least, and I think for a lot of other people, too.” ELIAS: “You are correct.” [session 1088, May 23, 2002] Digests – see also: | absolutes | perception Resources for Newcomers New to the information? Monthly Musings - Back to Basics: Noticing Conflict Last month we explored the clarity exercise to hone our attention to each physical sense. It helps to ground our attention in the now, in our body, which in turn, allows us to shift our attention elsewhere. This month we’re going to revisit the very first exercise Elias presented to the small group in Castaic, California in 1995. Elias introduced the simple idea of “noticing” during these early sessions, which is very similar to practices like vipassana, zazen, and mindfulness meditation. The basic idea is to simply notice your attention, and what enters its focus in any moment. Then, we can apply that focus of attention to various aspects of everyday life. Elias says,
Noticing self is thus another foundational practice in which to build upon, like the clarity exercise. So we can now turn our attention to conflict – a rich subject for our noticing. In this early exercise, Elias points out how noticing our emotions, impulses, and thoughts helps us begin to recognize and identify sources of conflict. ELIAS: “As I have stated, your beliefs are incorporated into everything that you do. Before you can shift your focus in any matter you must deal with your beliefs. Each time you create a shift or – better terminology – allow a shift of your focus you affect an existing belief. In many of you – correction – in all of you, you have incorporated beliefs over many developmental focuses. “You did not only acquire all of your beliefs in this particular present focus. When you feel you have a blockage in some area you look to your influences as a child. This is only very partially correct. As I have told you, your lifetime spans many developmental focuses. You develop an affinity with certain belief systems throughout many developments. You reinforce them through these many developments. “An example, which should be easy for you to assimilate into your present focus would be that in the area of religious beliefs. You repeat Christian beliefs over several developmental focuses. Even when you attempt to move away from these concepts and beliefs they are incorporated into your physical focus so deeply that they do not just remove themselves from you. It takes much work. It takes much noticing of these beliefs. This is sometimes difficult when you are not even aware of how deeply you have incorporated these beliefs. “Religious beliefs, while being easy to identify with, are not your only belief systems. Your beliefs in how you interact with each other in relationships is another obvious belief system. There are many beliefs that you incorporate into your physical focus. These are only a few. “The first element is to recognize when a belief is creating conflict between thought and feeling. You will understand when this conflict occurs. The way you will understand is that you will have to choose between a thought or a feeling. When you are in harmony and your beliefs are not creating conflict you will not have to choose between thoughts and feelings. This occurs every day of your focus. “You may consider an exercise this week, in your terms. Each time you experience an impulse or an emotion, no matter how small, notice your thought patterns. Notice if they are in harmony. If they are not you will experience a pull. This pull will show itself in a manner of excusing, or invalidating, or rationalization. Sometimes you will not experience what you feel to be an emotion. You will only experience an impulse. Do not discount these impulses any more than you would an actual feeling. Is this clearer?” VICKI: “Yes, I think it is clearer. A question: then these impulses are basically the same as the emotional feeling?” ELIAS: “No. I am apologizing for misunderstanding. They are not always the same. You may experience impulses without a feeling. When you have an impulse to do something you do not necessarily feel something about it. Nonetheless an impulse is an urging of your essence. Sometimes you will experience a physical impulse. This would not be equated with an emotion. This does not mean it should not be recognized. “When your body experiences natural impulses of natural physical functions you automatically listen. (Smiling) If you are thirsty you will drink. You will have no conflict with this because you will recognize then you will act automatically without thought on this impulse. This is the division – when you allow conflict between thought and natural impulse or emotion. This is when you experience confusion and discomfort. Is this clear?” VICKI: “Yes, that helps a lot.” [session 08, May 21, 1995 ] Digests – see also: | impulses | noticing self | Speak to Elias: Hold Your Own Private or Group Session Mary Ennis holds private and group sessions. Publication date 15 September 2004
For more information or to pre-order, please contact annek@contact-publishing.co.uk At this time in our world we are all asking questions of ourselves and others such as, “What is my purpose?” and “What is truth?” and “What is death?” We are questioning the validity of our governments and our religious institutions. The Shift: A Time of Change offers the answer to these questions. First time author David Tate has waded through the voluminous information delivered by Elias/Mary Ennis to compile a GEM of the Elias material and has shaped The Shift: A Time of Change into a definitive reference guide of the most popular topics of the Elias material. All of the readers of the popular Seth/Jane Roberts books will identify with the information delivered by Elias/Mary Ennis in that it is channelled material. Like Seth, Elias is an essence who brings forth explanations of our world, ourselves and that we create our reality. The mantra, “You create your own reality,” was originated by Seth. Seth further explained that our beliefs create our reality. However, Elias clarifies that in order to change our realities we must accept our beliefs. In The Shift, Elias delves deep into the fundamental questions we all have concerning truth, karma, beliefs systems and God. “You are moving to the creation of a new expression of your physical reality as you know it. In this, not only your technology shall advance and be created differently, but all of your reality shall be altered and shall be different.” Synopsis The Shift: A Time of Change is a compilation of transcripts that have been delivered by Elias/Mary Ennis since 1995. The phenomenon of Elias began in 1995 and, through Mary Ennis, Elias has given private and group readings to people around the globe. This book encompasses the gems of that information that addresses everyone on the planet. This is the first book within a series.
